IronCity – Rust & Steel meets Finest Tuning
Our motto is also our mission. Every year, hundreds of exclusive vehicles from all over Europe gather at our event. And it all takes place in the gigantic setting of Ferropolis, an open-cast mining museum and event venue located on a peninsula in the middle of Lake Gremmin. Surrounded by towering steel giants from the bygone era of brown coal mining, the cars shine with a special kind of brilliance, creating a truly unique atmosphere. We’re confident we have one of the best locations in Europe, a sentiment echoed year after year by thousands of visitors.
As night falls, things become even more special. The old coal excavators are bathed in colorful lights, and the grand finale fireworks end the event with a spectacular bang.
Location
Ferropolis is the venue for IronCity, an open-air museum and event site located in the middle of Lake Gremmin, near the town of Gräfenhainichen (Saxony-Anhalt). The main highlights here are the five massive brown coal excavators on display.
The site hosts a variety of festivals every year (including Melt!, Splash!, and Full Force), so space definitely won’t be an issue for us at this location.
Food & Drinks
At IronCity, your culinary needs are well taken care of. Our catering partner, Gastrobüro GmbH & Co. KG, provides a wide selection of food and drinks every year. In addition to burgers, pizza, fries, currywurst & more, you’ll also find cakes, ice cream, and of course, options for our vegan and vegetarian visitors. The offerings change each year, but they’re always a treat.
When it comes to drinks, you’ll find all the essentials: soft drinks, water, and beer plus energy drinks and coffee, of course.

Ons motto is ook echt onze missie. Elk jaar verzamelen zich honderden exclusieve voertuigen uit heel Europa op ons event. En dat allemaal in het gigantische decor van Ferropolis, een openlucht mijn museum en evenementenlocatie op een schiereiland midden in het Gremminer See. Omringd door reusachtige staalmachines uit het verleden van de bruinkoolwinning schitteren de auto’s in een heel bijzonder licht, wat zorgt voor een unieke sfeer. We zijn ervan overtuigd dat we een van de vetste locaties van Europa hebben – iets wat duizenden bezoekers elk jaar opnieuw bevestigen.
Zodra de avond valt, wordt het nog specialer. De oude graafmachines worden verlicht in kleurrijke tinten en het grote afsluitende vuurwerk sluit het event af met een knal.

Ferropolis is de locatie van IronCity – een openluchtmuseum en evenemententerrein midden in het Gremminer See, vlak bij de stad Gräfenhainichen (Saksen-Anhalt). De absolute highlights zijn de vijf gigantische bruinkoolgraafmachines die hier permanent opgesteld staan.
Elk jaar vinden hier verschillende grote festivals plaats (zoals Melt!, Splash! en Full Force), dus qua ruimte hoeven we ons op deze locatie geen zorgen te maken.
Eten & Drinken
Op IronCity is jouw innerlijke mens goed verzorgd. Onze cateringpartner, Gastrobüro GmbH & Co. KG, zorgt elk jaar weer voor een uitgebreid aanbod aan eten en drinken. Naast burgers, pizza, friet, curryworst & co vind je hier ook taart, ijs én natuurlijk opties voor onze vegan en vegetarische bezoekers. Het aanbod wisselt jaarlijks, maar is altijd om van te genieten.
Qua drankjes zit je ook goed: van frisdrank, water en bier tot energy drinks en uiteraard koffie, alles is aanwezig.
